Wise Woods is an entirely Canadian company which custom designs and builds fine furniture. Wisewoods also offers repairs and restoration services, returning integrity and function to existing furniture. Our mandate includes providing quality true joinery furniture made of carefully selected wood, according to our original designs, as well as providing tasteful and functional renovations to home interiors and exteriors. We take pride in choosing wood from small Canadian Mills harvesting wood sustainbly. We often commission professional glass, metal and stone workers, as well as carvers to create specific features for our furniture designs and home renovations. We encourage our clients’ interest in their Piece, and welcome clients to visit the workshop during the building process. We are pleased to provide long distance clients with drawings, wood samples, and progress photos upon request. Originally a visual artist with various collections of paintings as well as stone and clay sculptures, Sascha Galt, inspired by the urge to serve function as well as to reflect beauty and nature, turned her focus to the designing and building of fine furniture. She studied at Camosun College in Victoria, B.C., graduating in 2000. Since 2000, Sascha has been catering to clients who seek exquisite quality in one of a kind creations, and those home owners seeking to add style. Saschas' passion lives in the wood she works. The combination of intricate details surrounded by clean lines and true joinery is her art. Her reverence for wood shines through hand rubbed natural oil finishes ...clearly revealing the antiques of the future, while her solid yet invisible repairs and restorations are her way of honouring the history alive in wood and the antiques of the past.
